The Impact Scholars Program (ISP) is a six-month, part-time mentored research initiative for early-career computational scientists. Scholars contribute to original research projects through Neuromatch Academy and partner organizations, producing citable outputs while building real research skills.

Apply or learn more at neuromatch.io/impact-scholars-program.

How it works

Scholars join small research groups led by expert mentors. Over six months, each group designs and carries out a focused research project, then publishes their findings as a micropublication. These micropublications are openly available here in this gallery.

The minimum commitment is 5 hours per week over the six-month program.

Eligibility

To be eligible, applicants must have successfully completed the most recent Neuromatch Academy course in their chosen domain (passing both tutorials and project components). Teaching Assistants from Academy courses are also eligible as equal collaborators.

Scholars may only participate within the same domain as their Academy course.
